General Rules

Contest Theme: Nature,  Environmental & Industry.
We are seeking photographs that embrace your love of the outdoors, feature the local environment and nature, or creatively showcase the industry in which you work. .
*Please review this entire page for complete rules and samples of quality of winning photos from the past three years prior to submitting. 
Members and non-members can submit. You  must  live or work  in Citrus  Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee,  Pasco, Pinellas  and Polk Counties AND the photograph must have been taken in the State of Florida. 
Winners are announced at the October Lunch meeting and showcased at Falliday.

The photographer must live or work in Citrus, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough,  Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk  Counties AND the photograph must have been taken in the State of Florida. 
Photos must be taken at a high enough resolution to print on large canvas. This means your photo should be a resolution of at least 3200 x 3200. The files size itself should be less than 5mb.



The deadline closes promptly at 5 PM on the date shown on this rules page. No entries will be accepted after that date and time. 
The photographer maintains ownership rights to the submitted images.  You grant TBAEP, however, the right to use images in perpetuity for marketing and other publications, including but not limited to social media, the TBAEP website, emails, and newsletters.

Contest FAQ's

  1. What is the purpose of the photo contest?
    The contest is a fundraiser for the Rising Star Scholarship Fund We additionally hope to: Raise awareness of TBAEP within our community Engage with members and encourage new membership Generate a great set of photos to use on our website and in social media.
  2. Who can enter? 
     The contest is open to everyone (members and non‐members) who live in the following counties:
  3. How  much  does  it  cost  to  enter?
    $5 for each entry, enter up to five (5) photos. There is an additional $5 administration fee for non‐members, the fee is waived for members.
  4. Where can photos be taken?
     Photos can be taken anywhere within the state of Florida. 
  5. When to submit?
    The contest submission period begins on May 1st and ends on August 15th.  The photos do not have to be taken during this time period.
  6. How many photos can I submit?
    Entrants may enter up to five (5) photos, but individuals may only place once in the winners circle. 
  7. Who Judges the Contest?
    Photographs  will  be  judged  by  a  panel  of  esteemed professionals including the Presenting Sponsor, a local professional photographer  and an Environmental Professional from the TBAEP membership. 
  8. Why do I have to pay to enter?
    The Annual Photo contest is a fundraiser, proceeds go to our Rising Star Student Scholarship fund.
  9. What do I win?
    First, Second, and Third and People's Choice winners take home a printed canvas photo. The top 12 photos are used as month photos in the annual calendar that are shared for free to the members. A second copy of canvas mounted photos are rotated to environmental office locations around the bay
